Dental Exams and Checkups

How Important is Dental Hygiene?

Oral hygiene is necessary to remove bacteria from your mouth. Every day, bacteria forms to build plaque that will eventually harden and lead to long-term issues such as gingivitis and periodontal disease. The removal of bacteria also eliminates the pathway to dental decay and cavities. A good dental routine and regular checkups will keep your mouth healthy and prevent inflammation, infection, and decay.

Why Get a Dental Exam?

Dental exams allow us to evaluate your current oral health condition and and help you prevent problems from occurring. If a problem is beginning to occur, it can be intercepted early so you can avoid large cavities, fractures, infection, and gum disease.

How Often Should You Get a Dental Exam?

Dental exams should occur about every 6 months. This allows us to intercept problems should they begin. We use our teeth everyday and thousands of chewing and thermal cycles can wear teeth down. Sometimes we will recommend a patient to visit more frequently if they are more susceptible to decay, gum disease, and other dental problems.
