Dental Crowns
What is a dental crown?
A crown is a custom covering that restores a tooth to it’s original shape and size. It can also be used to to enhance the appearance in esthetic situations. Crowns protect teeth that have been badly decayed or fractured by increasing the strength of the tooth with complete coverage of the remaining tooth structure. Crowns are made out of different types of porcelain depending on the application.

What is the dental crown process?
A dental crown is custom made for the tooth that is being replaced. During your appointment the tooth is shaped and a highly accurate impression is made. This impression is then used to fabricate the dental crown with the shade match and records that were recorded during the shaping process. The dental crown is then permanently cemented to the prepared tooth.
